The new AKCP Battery Monitor Sensor from manufacturer AKCess Pro Ltd is a solution for networked remote monitoring of batteries and battery banks. This SNMP enabled smart sensor consists of a battery terminal temperature sensor and a precise current transformer for remote measurement and monitoring of DC voltage and DC current. In combination with the networked sensorProbeX+ monitoring device, you can check the charge / discharge state of your battery / battery packs. AKCP`s Battery Monitor Sensor is also suitable for remote measurement & monitoring of solar and photovoltaic arrays.
Typical applications of this Battery Monitor Sensor are:

- Remote monitoring of DC voltage output of batteries & solar arrays
- Monitoring of current load on batteries

Practical example: Generator battery monitoring
Use the Battery Monitor Sensor with the IP based sensorProbeX+ remote unit to monitor your emergency generator. Depending on your individual setup, this smart sensor can check the the current draw on crank,or the charge current from the integrated alternator. If the current on crank decreases over a certain time period, this can signal a problem with the start-up battery of your diesel generator. So the sensorProbeX+ remote monitoring system (has to be ordered separately) will alert you and your colleagues via e-Mail and / or SMS (GSM modem or 3rd party e-Mail to SMS gateway mandatory). If you use an SNMP compatible automation-, building- or network- monitoring software, you can poll the DC voltage and current values directly.
Remote monitoring of solar panel arrays
With this smart Battery Monitor Sensor you can monitor the DC voltage and DC current output from your solar and photovoltaic panels. Get alerted immediately if the panels are running not efficiently (e.g. dirty solar panels). By comparing the battery current load and the solar panel charging load, you can also identify if your photovoltaic system is providing sufficient charging power, or if you are draining your batteries, and if so at what rate they are being consumed.
Select the current transducer (ct) suitable for your measuring purposes by selecting at the top right side. If no separate selection is made, the 0-50 A current transducer will be included in the scope of delivery.
