- Short description: Infrared Access Sensor
This IR Access Sensor is designed to protect mission critical IT racks and server cabinets. Increase the security of your 19-inch rack by installing this IR Access Sensor. Monitor nonstop the status of the door of your server cabinet. Get instant alerts by e-mail, SMS or SNMP Trap as soon as the door of the server cabinet is opened or closed.
Typical applications of IR Access Sensor:
- monitoring the door of 19-inch rack, network rack or server cabinet (door open / closed)
- Remote security monitoring of IT racks in colocation centre / remote data center
- Door monitoring in server and computer rooms
- Building automation / building management
This IR Access Sensor It is fully compatible to all SNMP-enabled Remote Monitoring devices from manufacturer Didactum. Simply connect the IR Access Sensor to any analog sensor port of your networked Monitoring System 50 / 100 III / 500 II. The Remote Monitoring Units 100 III and 500 II can be equipped with optional sensor expansion units so many 19-inch IT racks can be monitored. The IR access sensor is then immediately detected by the remote monitoring and control unit. In the multilingual webGUI of your monitoring device, you can define notifications, alerts and actions if the door of your IT rack or server cabinet is opened or closed. Each remote monitoring unit can send you notifications by e-Mail, SMS (via GSM modem or e-Mail to SMS Gateway).
Thanks to the full SNMP v1, v2c and v3 support, IP networked remote monitoring devices can send SNMP traps to DCIM software or Network Management Systems (NMS) such as Microsoft SCOM, Nagios, OpenNMS, HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, WhatsUp Gold, Zabbix, and many more. SNMP MIB files and Nagios plugins are included. IR access sensor has it`s own SNMP OID (object identifier), so this IR Access Sensor can be polled directly via network or web. In the integrated logic of the Didactum Monitoring System, you can individually name each IR Access Sensor. The built-in mapping module of the Didactum Monitoring Systems shows you the status of the server cabinet door.
Define automatic actions in the built-in logic of IP networked remote monitoring units. This means that an alarm siren or the lighting can be switched on or off when the 19-inch rack door door is opened or closed. If you attach the optional USB web cam to your Monitoring System, a video of the event can be send by e-Mail or SMS (via GPRS / GSM modem).
