A fire in a mission-critical infrastructure such as server room, production facility or logistics center can not only inflict the obvious fatal consequences on human life, but can also cause the complete destruction of your company’s ability to function. Frequently the most common causes of fires (in datacenters for example) are excessive heat due to technical defects in equipment, faulty electrical wiring and even negligence such as smoking.
In order to identify the threat quickly and prevent the spread of a fires the smoke needs to urgently be detected at an early stage. Therefore each and every room of a facility should be equipped with reliable smoke detectors that will help prevent disasters from fires. Smoke detectors should also be also installed in unmanned archives and cellar rooms in remote branch offices.
Easy installation of multi fire detector
This combined multi sensor f ire detector is easily installed on the ceiling.
This multi smoke and thermal sensor can also be mounted in network and server cabinets. Per two-wire cable this multi sensor fire detector is connected to the TCP/IP based Didactum remote monitoring unit (Dry Contact board Item no. 14027 with 16 inputs is necessary).
The easy-to-use web interface of the Didactum monitoring unit allows you to configure the multi- sensor fire detector quickly. Here you can easily define the notifications and alerts in case of fire or smoke detection. The Didactum IT monitoring series 500 and 500-DC can even automatically switch relays to alarm systems or building monitoring systems.
Notifications such as email or SMS alerts (Quad Band GSM modem required) are offered also. By sending SNMP traps to Building or Network Management Systems (eg Nagios, Icinga, OpenNMS, etc.), the ire alert can also be reported.
