Didactum`s thermal detector has been specially developed for the early detection of fire. This thermal fire detector comes in all applications where, because of high dust concentration, high air flow or high humidity (condensation), a use of conventional optical smoke detectors do not seem sensible.
The operation of this thermal fire detector is based on the principle of rapid increase in temperature and exceeding the temperature limit. The built-in intelligent technology supports a high level of operational safety.
Typical applications of Didactum`s thermal fire detector:
- fire detections for technical room, server room and data center infrastructure
- early detection of fire in warehouse and logistics areas
- fire detection in production environments (pharmaceutical production / food processing)
- fire detection in archives and depots

Quick assembly to Didactum`s web enabled remote monitoring systems
Didactum`s thermal fire detector is installed on the ceiling of the monitored area. The thermal fire detectors Didactum has an integrated relay contact. Per two-wire cable, this fire detector is connected with the dry contact inputs of the SNMP enabled Didactum monitoring system (optional Dry Contact board with 16 input contacts is necessary). Use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to connect to integrated web server of the Didactum network enabled monitoring devices. Here you can easily specify the required notification types on detection of fire.
In case of fire, Didactum`s web enabled monitoring system can alert you and your colleagues by sending e-mail or SMS (GSM modem unit required) notifications. By switching a siren, the staff will also be alerted. The Didactum monitoring systems 500 and 500-DC offer a 4 built-in relays, which could forward the fire alert to alarm systems or building management systems. If you use SNMP compatible automation or building monitoring software or an NMS (IBM Tivoli, Nagios, OpenNMS, WhatsUp Gold, Zabbix, etc.), the fire alert can also be forwarded via SNMP trap.
This is interesting for customers who monitor centrally a variety of distributed infrastructure. The Didactum infrastructure monitoring unit can also send live pictures of the event to the headquarter via video stream. To do this, simply connect the appropriate USB video cameras to the SNMPv1-/v2c/v3- enabled Didactum control unit.
