This bidirectional DC sensor is used to measure and monitor DC current. This sensor is compatible with all Ethernet-based remote measuring and monitoring devices made by Didactum.
Typical applications of the bidirectional DC current sensor are:

Connection to the IP network based remote measuring and monitoring system
The connection of the SNMP compatible sensor is done according to the "plug and play" principle. After you have plugged the sensor cable of the bidirectional DC sensor into one of the sensor ports of the SNMP monitoring system, it will be detected immediately and displayed in the multi-language web interface. Here you can individually configure your DC current sensor.
The measurement of DC voltage is done in real time. The measured data is stored in the integrated data logger of the IP network based remote monitoring system. The export of the voltage measurement is done by a simple mouse click (CSV or XML data format). Directly in the web interface, you can let display the DC current measurement graphically. In addition, the voltage values measured by the bidirectional DC sensor can be transmitted remotely via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) to automation and measurement data software as well as monitoring tools.
Each Ethernet based measurement and monitoring system supports the SNMP protocols v1, 2c as well as the encrypted v3. The Didactum MIB file required for SNMP-compatible monitoring software can be loaded directly from the Web interface.
Notification and alerting in terms of DC current
In the multi-language web interface of the IP network based remote measuring and monitoring system, you can define individual thresholds and warning values in terms of DC current measurement. Set to five freely selectable limits (Low Alarm, Low Warning / Normal / High Warning / High Alarm). Afterwards, you can define notifications, alarm messages or automatic actions when the required DC current is undershot or exceeded. Get informed via SNMP, e-mail or SMS (GSM or LTE modem or eMail to SMS gateway needed). The content of the alert can be customized with the support of the innovative Didactum macro function.
